Robin Farquhar

Robin Farquhar

Robin (she/her) is a 2014 graduate of Thompson Rivers University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. As a recipient of the Thompson Rivers Public Health award, her passion towards public health/health promotion did not go unnoticed. She has focused her attention toward community health and public health and has recognized the impact that lifestyle choices can have on overall quality of life. Robin believes strongly that knowledge is power, which drives her passion to share her knowledge with individuals that are wanting to take control over their own health. Areas she is passionate about include optimal nutrition focused on blood sugar balancing, movement, stress management, circadian biology, mindset and goal setting. She reminds people that the time to act is now and believes that there is no one-size fits all approach when it comes to health and wellness. In her free time, Robin enjoys walking, weight lifting, and keeping up to date on the latest research around health and nutrition.

Jacqui Hipwell

Nurse Practitioner

Jacqui (she/her) has been working in the nursing field since 2009. She has progressed her career from Licensed Practical Nurse to Registered Nurse, where she has an extensive background in emergency medicine, and more recently in cancer, enzyme deficiency and autoimmune diseases. This had been a good segway for her to return to school and pursue advanced clinical practice education to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from Athabasca University with a master's degree in Nursing. She has found a passion for disease prevention and management and primary care across the lifespan. When she is not working, Jacqui enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering.

Nicole Gorman

Nurse Practitioner

Nicole (she/her) is a Nurse Practitioner (Family). She completed the Masters of Nursing/Nurse Practitioner Stream (F) through the University of Victoria, British Columbia, in 2007. Nicole considers herself a lifelong learner, gaining knowledge from peers/colleagues, clients, students, and everyday experiences. Nicole recently completed a Doctoral of Nursing Practice degree through Grand Canyon University. Her areas of expertise include kidney care, cardiac health, and health literacy. Nicole is passionate about chronic disease management and working with individuals to promote their health through knowledge translation and behavioural sciences. Nicole enjoys running, the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends in her spare time.

Eleah Stringer

Registered Dietitian

Eleah (she/her) is a Registered Dietitian in Victoria, BC with a background in natural and alternative health. She’s inspired by the famous Tom Edison quote, “The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition.” She believes in engaging and customized nutrition approaches that focus on the journey of health, rather than results alone. She draws on her clinical experience in acute and chronic disease management to design nutrition programs that address lifestyle, motivation, and behavioural patterns. Additionally, she works in research on food security, digital health technologies and metabolic adaptations that reduces or slows the development of disease. She enjoys growing veggies with her kids and exploring our Westcoast beaches and forests. Eleah is the Health Professional-Investigator with Michael Smith Health Research BC working on expanding her current feasibility trial on intermittent fasting in blood cancer to a phase 2 trial. She is also a PhD student in Human Nutrition at UBC.

Dr. Ryan Mader

Ryan Mader (he/him) received his Medical Degree and his Diploma in Family Medicine through the Aboriginal Family Medicine Program from the University of British Columbia. Prior to his medical training he completed a Bachelor of Science through Wilfrid Laurier University and a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine Diploma through the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver. His practice has focused on general family medicine with a focus on occupational medicine including urgent primary care, mental health and substance use management. Dr. Mader has a keen interest in supporting Evolve customers to improve their health and wellness in the long term.

Dr. Jo Epping-Jordan

Dr. Jo Epping-Jordan

Dr. Jo Epping-Jordan completed a doctorate in psychology from the University of Vermont, followed by a clinical internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine, where she received additional specialized training in health psychology. Afterwards, she worked for more than 10 years at the World Health Organization, including as a WHO senior adviser for chronic diseases and health promotion. Dr. Epping-Jordan understands that mental health is fundamentally connected to physical health and that changing health habits can be difficult. Motivation and good intentions are necessary but almost always insufficient. Dr. Epping-Jordan advises the Evolve team on using behavioural science to develop detailed plans for successful change.

Andrea has been a Medical Office Assistant for over 13 years. She prides herself on giving her patients the best care possible. Andrea loves the healthcare field, the feeling of helping others, and feeling fulfilled at the end of her day.

Shelly Dornian (she/her) supports operations at Evolve so customers have an easy and streamlined experience. She is currently a student in the Master of Healthcare Quality program at Queen’s University. She helps facilitate what goes on in the background so that Evolve customers and health care providers can focus on what matters most.

Jaime de Melo

Dr. Jaime de Melo (he/him) is a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Jaime is passionate about helping people learn to self-manage chronic health conditions through lifestyle medicine. He is in awe of the fantastic team at Evolve that have worked with him on the vision to help improve the metabolic health of Canadians. Dr. Jaime supports Evolve with leadership, orientation to action, and ensuring services meet the needs of our community. When not working on the evolution of Evolve 😉 he can be found in private practice at Acacia Integrative Health, as a director and supervisor at the Family Naturopathic Clinic (a free Naturopathic clinic for low income families) or running and biking around town with his lovely wife and daughters.
